The introduction of iPad into the market saw the torrent of many iPad like competitive devices being created. Optimus Pad is among these devices and it is probably the best competitor to iPad. Its major difference is the operating system it runs. Even though originally meant for smartphones, Android was recently optimized to be used on tablets.
1. Hardware
Optimus Pad boasts of better hardware system compared to iPad. It is fitted with Tegra 2 processor that has two processors and enhanced graphics capabilities. However, iPad uses Apple’s innovative A4 processor that is due for upgrading very soon. It does offer a good performance since Apple has done so much to make sure that a user cannot push the tablet beyond the set limits. An example is the restriction on multitasking.
2. Display
With the display, iPad has a bigger display than Optimus Pad. The 9.7” display on iPad beats the 8.9” on Optimus Pad. Nevertheless, the display on Optimus Pad does have an additional benefit of showing clear 3D images. To view 3D images on this particular device, you have to purchase separate 3D glasses.
3. Camera
Among the key features of Optimus Pad that have customers thrilled is its camera. Besides the front camera for allowing video calling, Optimus has a 5MP dual camera on the rear. The rear camera can take both 3D pictures and videos. However, you have to purchase the 3D glasses to view the images. In contrast, the iPad does not have a camera, although the smaller iPhone does.
All things considered, Optimus Pad has better features than iPad and it can do much more than its competitor. However, if you want to purchase an iPad, you should go for iPad 2 that is expected to have far better features compared to its predecessor.
