Energy is important component of all living systems as it initiates the concept of motion to potentially occur. In the possession of energy, the highest possibility for matter to perform its indicated functions can be expected. Of the many various sources of energy, there have been two most useful natural resources that unceasingly provide mankind with the necessary demands of energy that contributes to the day to day living. Such sources are known as the wind power and the solar power. By their names per se, wind power and solar power basically come from the wind and the sun respectively.
Wind power typically provides energy when cool air replaces the hot air above the surface of the Earth, and this occurs in a constant manner, making wind always present. Solar power, on the other hand, draws energy primarily from the power provided by the sun.
Apart from the basic difference in source, wind power and solar power also bear disparity in terms of supply. In most cases, wind power is constantly provided since wind is never affected by any changes in climate, weather or any other environmental factors. Solar power, on the contrary, is mainly affected by the temperature in certain places. Thus, in the parts where warm and sunny days are rarely or minimally experienced, solar power supply can be minimal as well.
More so, solar power differs from wind power in terms of installation cost. Over the years, installation of solar power sources and panels has become evidently costly compared to wind power. However, such kind needs no high cost maintenance and repair when damaged.
Despite the divergences wind and solar powers possess from each other, they both play vital roles in ensuring that energy is well provided to the people.
