Over several years in passing, a significant number of individuals have lived by the famous notion that teas bear no divergences, despite having a variety of choices, flavors and effects. Although it is a fact that teas share similarities such as having essential amounts of antioxidants and are basically coming from the same species of plant, teas have their distinct vital indications. The most common types of teas being well recognized and appreciated in the market are white tea and green tea. While most individuals find both them similar, they exist basically because they are different from one another.

The major difference between white tea and green tea is their natural source. Although they come from the same kind of plant, they are extracted from the different parts. White tea is extracted from the young, freshly sprouting leaves and buds of the plant while green teas come from the old leaves that are located in the upper portions of the plant.

Aside from their disparity in source, white teas and green teas bear distinction in terms of the taste they possess. White teas typically exude a lighter, gentler and smoother taste compared to green teas’ evidently leafy and grassy taste and texture.

More so, white teas have been known to contain richer, purer and more nourishing ingredients than that of green teas since they are mildly processed and spared from excessive straining.

In this light, white teas can be further differentiated from green teas by their cost. Obviously, white teas project a much higher price compared to green teas, typically because the period of harvesting young buds and leaves are limited.

Despite their discrepancies, white teas and green teas are well appreciated by many people as they provide great benefits for the body.
