Among the many regional languages in India, Tamil and Telugu are one of the most popular and widely spread spoken and written language all throughout the state, and in various parts of Asian and African continents.

Tamil, for one, is a Dravidian language that is popularly spoken by the communities situated within the Indian subcontinent. It is also the official language used in the nations of Singapore and Sri Lanka, and with the inclusion of some minority groups in Mauritius and Malaysia. In 2004, Tamil was declared as the first Indian classical language by the government. It is, by fact, one of the longest existing classical languages all over the world. Its literature has existed for more than two thousand years since recorded. And, due to its quality and diversity as used in various literatures, it is considered nowadays as one of the great classical literature and traditions in the whole world.

On the part of Telugu, it is accepted as the official language used in the areas of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Also, it is spoken in the surrounding states of Karnataka, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. It ranked 13th among the list of most-spoken languages in the whole world, acknowledged as the 2nd leading number of native speakers in India, and currently one of the four existing classical languages also globally speaking. Telugu is said to be the only literary south-central Dravidian language that is greatly shaped by the Prakrit and Sanskrit. Its literature was traced back to exist since 11th century AD. The variations in the usage of the language Telugu largely depends on the region where it is spoken. In the areas of Hyderabad, Telugu is said to be greatly influenced by Urdu due to its history of being conquered and ruled by the Muslims for many years. In some cases, Telugu is also spoken along with English that is popular among the middle class groups in India.
