Networking sites continue to increase every day and they act as a good place for people to meet new people and share opinions and information. These websites are also great places for getting new contacts and staying connected with your family. Professional networking and social networking are both important in their own respects as showed below.

Many companies today are using social networking websites like Twitter for promoting their services and products to the younger generation. Most young people are normally keener on meeting friends and developing relationships. Nevertheless, there is an increasingly growing trend of carrying out professional networking using websites that are specifically tailored for business .

There are numerous networking websites that are normally used by professionals and companies who have created their profiles to distribute useful data about themselves. LinkedIn is among the most widely used professional networking websites. It is used like a platform for getting better employment posts. Companies also use to hire their employees. In fact, these websites are being used like an alternative to conducting interviews and thus hire workers.

This does not mean that social websites cannot be used directly for achieving professional goals. However, professional networking websites are specifically designed for business related purposes only. This fact is what distinguishes professional sites from social sites. Hence, you will find that professional networking websites only discuss professional issues using a formal language. However, social networking is informal in nature and the issues discussed can range from fashion and beauty to many others.

In short, social networking has been growing very quickly nowadays and this can be seen in the large amounts of social networking websites available. It is mainly used to make friends and interact with people. In contrast, professional networking websites are solely used for business related purposes where organizations post information concerning their services and employees also post their information.
