    In every profession, there exists a process that facilitates order and contributes to the development and improvement of one organization or company. While the scientific process is almost always employed in various settings, management process is also widely used today. The management process is basically comprised of planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating. Focusing on the aspects of controlling and evaluating, these two parts are equally vital in managing, even in the most undesirable settings and conditions. Part of controlling is monitoring, wherein all processes as well as supplies and workloads are being constantly put into view. Evaluation, on the other hand, is more concerned with getting information on what needs to changed, omitted and improved.

    Assessing the nature of the terms in focus, it is quite obvious that monitoring and evaluation gravely differ from one another. While monitoring focuses identifying changes, evaluation puts more emphasis on the efficiency of the activity or performance being employed.

    Another disparity between the two is their purpose. The main purpose of conducting monitory function is to keep track of all business-related transactions as well as it analyses the level at which progress is highly evident. Evaluation, on the contrary, is employed to study the effectiveness of techniques and processes as well as to gather pertinent data and information that can help in making amends and improvements to the concerned entity.

    More so, monitoring and evaluation differ by their effect. The process of monitoring provides the institution or company the basis on where to make revisions and omissions while the process of evaluation provides the perfect avenue for allowing concerns and predicaments to be duly heard, addressed and amended.

    Until today, monitoring and evaluation are still widely practiced in many various settings, especially in large institutions, companies and establishments.
