Like is much more associated with romance as compared to paternal love. Many women and also men who are currently in somewhat new relationships are normally hesitant when it comes to voicing their feelings. As such, rather than saying that their love their partners, they tell them that they really like them.

In the intricate world of relationships and dating, quickly admitting your feelings of love to your partner may scare that person away.
