As people seek to buy cool gadgets in an attempt to stay up to date with latest trends, most of them are not taking a closer look as to what every device offers. In the field of media and mobile connectivity, two phones are in unending battle and they are Palm Pre and the iPhone. To make a good choice, you have to know the difference between these two units.
1. Production
Palm Pre and iPhone differ in their production companies. Apple is responsible for producing the iPhone, while Palm Incorporated is behind the production of Palm Pre. Both devices have similar dimensions, even though the iPhone is slightly lighter than Palm Pre. The iPhone comes with touch screen, while Palm Pre has a QWERTY keypad.
2. Multi-tasking
Palm Pre is a better device for multi-tasking than the iPhone as it allows various applications to be opened simultaneously. The iPhone, however, declined installing this particular functionality as they claimed that it wasted battery power. As such, iPhone limits multi-tasking with less applications being opened at one time. Apple believes that when programs are operating simultaneously, they drop power efficiency greatly by about 80%.
3. Search capabilities
In context of search capabilities, Palm Pre appears to be more beneficial. It has the latest universal search feature, meaning that this device can search anything using a single search bar. Although the iPhone might not have this feature, its latest models have fancy extras such as the Spotlight that allows unprecedented search abilities, amongst numerous other interesting applications installed.
4. Camera
Palm Pre is better with regards to taking pictures as it has a 3 megapixel camera, while the iPhone only has a 2 megapixel camera. The Palm device also has the led flash feature for taking high quality photographs.
Most youth would purchase an iPhone because of the multimedia features, while business minded people go for Palm Pre due to easy typing capabilities.
