As both iPad Wi-Fi and 3G models are now accessible, many phone users are torn between these two. While the main distinction is the new wireless capability that allows people to remain connected online even while moving around. Aside from 3G wireless feature, the iPad WiFi and WiFi have many other distinct differences as illustrated below.
1. Physical differences
The presence of 3G wireless has resulted in some physical differences as contrasted to iPad WiFi. The main physical difference is that Apple replaced a small part aluminum casing of the iPad with a black plastic. This was done so as to enable the device to acquire a better wireless signal. While this modification may not appear very stylish, it makes a huge difference in obtaining a great signal.
2. SIM card
Similar to an iPhone or other mobile phones, the iPad 3G requires one SIM card for purposes of not only identifying the device but also connecting to the chosen cellular network. Unlike iPad 3G, the iPad WiFi does not require any SIM card to function. To cater for the new SIM card feature, the IPad 3G comes with a small compartment placed on its side, which pops out revealing the SIM tray. That is essentially where a micro SIM card is placed.
3. GPS
Even both versions of iPad support the latest location services, the 3G iPad features in build GPS. Both versions are capable of determining your location through using WiFi triangulation. However, the iPad 3G features a dedicated GPS chip that offers a more precise location fix. A benefit of using iPad 3G is that it can still determine your present location, particularly if you are no longer within range of good WiFi signals.
Despite of the iPad that you choose to get, I think that you really enjoy it. With the numerous apps offered and great accessories, you will locate something interesting and then modify it to suit your unique requirements.
