The Wildfire S and Desire S are some of the updated models of HTC phones that were released a while ago. Even though both are basically mid-level phones, HTC Desire S is more advanced compared to Wildfire S. Below are some key features of both phones.
1. Screen
Desire S boasts of a larger screen in comparison with Wildfire S. The former has a wide 3.7” display, whereas the latter only has a small 3.2” screen. The same superiority of Desire S applies to the variety of colors and resolution that the two screens can display. The big screen of Desire S results in a somewhat bigger device, since it is actually taller, although thinner than Wildfire S. Owners of Desire S will also feel that the weight was slightly increased.
2. Video capabilities
Both phones come with a 5MP camera that provides clear images. Nevertheless, the two differ when shooting video. While it is possible to shoot a 720p video on Desire S, the same is impossible when using Wildfire. This is actually not a camera limitation, but it is an inadequacy of the processing power of Wildfire S. HTC Desire S comes with a great GPU and 1GHz processor, whereas Wildfire S uses a much slower processing power. In addition, Desire S owners can make video calls due to the front camera.
3. Appearance
Another difference between these two is seen in their body construction. Desire S was fitted with an appealing aluminum body that offers a stronger feel. This was meant to give the impression and feel of an expensive device. In contrast, Wildfire S has an external body that is completely made from plastic. In general, plastic is the common material used for cheap phones.
Both phones serve their own specific markets. HTC Desire S was designed for people who want to spend more money on phones, while those with less money can purchase the cheaper HTC Wildfire S.
