Gin and vodka are two widely used popular drinks throughout the world. Except for very few people, most alcohol users do not know the differences between these two popular drinks. This article will explain both drinks and their notable differences.

Vodka is essential a combination of water and the standard unpretentious alcohol. The water used in vodka is flavored or it might not be flavored. Gin differs greatly in this particular aspect. This is because its flavor is normally added by certain spice extracts. Juniper berries are mostly used for the purpose of flavoring gin.

Gin is essentially a clear and tasty spirit that many drinkers like worldwide. It is made from distilling grains like rye and barley. A combination of spice and herb extracts is then added onto the distilled grains. The resultant mixture comprises of juniper, coriander, lemon and orange zests, aniseed, cardamom and aniseed. As soon as the gin finishes distilling, it is then diluted and given the name ‘dry gin.’ There are varying tastes of gin depending on the area that it is brewed from. Gin is largely produced in America, United Kingdom and Holland. London gin and dry gin are the most requested varieties.

In contrast, vodka is simply highly distilled alcohol, which removes the entire alcohol flavor. That is why vodka features a smooth and clear appearance. It is an odorless and colorless liquid. It is considered like a pure and clear spirit that offers a satisfying neutral taste. Vodka is usually distilled from a combination of grains or potatoes. Top brands only use distilled grain mixtures. Whereas barley and wheat are top priority grains in vodka production, rye may be used sometimes. The most consumed vodka flavors include pepper and lemon. The method of serving vodka differs from one country to the next.

In conclusion, vodka is simply alcohol that has no flavor, while gin is regarded like flavored vodka.
