Energy is one important element in the existence of mankind and its associated living and nonliving things. In a more formal definition, energy is one source whereby a physical system can initiate motion. Over the years of study, it has been discovered that energy can come from several different sources. Of the various sources of energy, there are two sources which many people find interest in. These are geothermal energy and fossil fuels energy. Geothermal energy is one source of energy that basically comes from the heat found beneath the Earth. Fossil fuels energy, on the other hand, is another kind in which energy is sourced out from the fossil fuels that is typically produced by nature.
Obviously, the major difference between the two sources of fuel is their nature. While geothermal energy is produced from the Earth’s natural possession of heat, Fossil fuels energy is due to the natural decay of living organisms that eventually becomes part of the natural soil. Part of their possessed nature is the fact that fossil fuels are sources that cannot be renewed whereas geothermal energy has the ability to be renewed at all times.
Another difference between geothermal energy and fossil fuels energy is the technology that produces the indicated type of energy. In the production of geothermal energy, there is a significant need for the associated processes to be advanced and enhanced to continuously address the demands of the society. In the production of fossil fuels energy, however, it has shown to be adequately developed and have undeniably consistent in meeting the people’s demands.
Aside from the cited differences, it has been diverged that geothermal energy poses lesser environmental hazards compared to the level of harm imposed by the energy coming from fossil fuels.
