Android Honeycomb and Apple iOS are operating systems designed by Google and Apple respectively for running smart phones and tablets. Apple released their latest iOS 4.3 in early March 2011 for iPad 2 3G, while Google introduced Android 3.0 in late January 2011. The competition between Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and iPad 2 is largely based on the features and performance of Android 3.0 against iOS 4.3.
1. Features of Apple iOS4.3
This new operating system features additional functionality and features as contrasted to the previous iOS 4.2. It supports additional swipes and multi-touch gestures. Another new feature is the iTunes sharing feature. The iOS 4.3 also features enhanced video streaming as well as Airplay support. The Airplay features comprise of extra support for audio and video editing from various third party apps and also sharing content like pictures in the social network.
There are two new applications that come with the iOS 4.3, which are the iMovie and Garage Band. The iMovie is a meticulous editor that allows uses to share HD videos with one. The other brand new app, Garage Band, offers the benefit of plugging in various touch instruments like guitars, bass, drums, grand piano and organ. You can also record several tracks with over 200 loops. It is priced cheaply at $4.99 just like iMovie.
3. Features of Android 3.0
The Honeycomb from Google is best for devices that have large screens like tablets. It has wonderful user interface and it provides an amazing web browsing session. As usual, Android 3.0 has included all the famous Google applications like Google Talk, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search and a better YouTube. Furthermore, it has added wallpapers with redesigned widgets. It offers three different home screens, which users can customize.
In conclusion, Android 3.O offers rich browsing and enhanced multitasking, while iOS 4.3 has limitation with media streaming even though some enhancements have been introduced with enhanced Airplay.
