2G is otherwise known as the second generation technology, whereby mobile services were improved through the introduction of digital services limited only to voice transmission. 3G, on the other hand, facilitates the availability of accessing and utilizing video calls, which enables users to see the person they are talking to as long as the devices they use are made to be compatible to each other.

More so, 2G differs from 3G in terms of capacity in data transfer. While 2G possesses a limited rate of transfer to up to 270 kilobytes per second only, 3G has evidently broaden its scope as it permits a faster data transfer rate at a maximum of 2 megabytes per second. Evidently, 3G provides users with more convenient and faster accessibility of files, data and applications.

Today, fourth generations and fifth generations have been made available making technology dominantly influential in this day’s modern lifestyle.
